Overview

Real wholesale food prices: what a kilo of tomato, lettuce and mushroom (and aloe vera) costs now at official wholesale markets on five continents - the New York terminal market (USDA), Colombia (DANE SIPSA), Tokyo Central Wholesale Markets, the EU member-state median, Mercalaspalmas (Gran Canaria), Cape Town Market and Mercado Central de Buenos Aires. Per market: its own median in local currency and in USD per kg, the report date and the sha256 of the source file. Per crop: the median of the fresh markets, published only when at least 3 are fresh (otherwise the status says so, never a number). Exchange rates from the ECB, Colombia's TRM and Argentina's BCRA, named. Refreshed every 6 hours; markets we cannot read are listed with the reason. The daily medians are also written to Arc: latest("Tomato") on WorldFoodPrices [redacted], free to read on chain. Wholesale only, never farmgate or retail; data, not an asset.
