Overview

Contract read on Arc: one view call on any contract, decoded, with block and time. ?address=0x...&fn=function balanceOf(address) view returns (uint256)&args=["0x..."] (args a JSON array, optional; &block=N for a past block). For agents that check owner, paused, allowance or a balance before acting, without running an RPC. Only view/pure functions; a revert, a non-contract or a bad signature is refused before payment.

How to call it

Requests are paid per call over the x402 protocol. Call the endpoint, receive a 402 Payment Required quote, then repeat the request with the signed payment header. The SDKs do both steps for you.
